last month, president obama said he would back a senate measure to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. we're also expected to get some video later this morning, hopefully any time soon. mcdonald's workers protesting outside the smithsonian's national air and space museum. they work there under a federal contract. they are calling on the president to issue an executive order that companies doing bis with the federal government -- business with the federal government pay that wage. the workers say it's difficult to live on 7.25 an hour which is only about $15,000 a year. now, again, protests at 100 cities across the country here in the bay area, workers are striking. planning to strike outside of fast-food restaurants in oakland, in san jose. in our next hour of "mornings on 2," we'll have more details on where and when those walkouts will take place a little later on today. >>> reporting live in the newsroom, pam cook, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, pam. >>> 7:50. might be a little treacherous getting to some of those protests around. sal joins us now and more report
